who we are

Larry and Annis Schnedler
Steven & Leslie Schnedler

Larry and Annis Schnedler, founders of Pan American Ministries, started their missions work in 1965 (after making exploratory trips to Mexico in 1963 and 1964), though Pan Am Ministries was organized in 1977.

They strongly believed their calling was to establish a work that was apostolic in nature, that is, planting, establishing, and overseeing new churches, and raising up and equipping new leaders.  A cornerstone of P.A.M’s outreach has been a strong emphasis on teaching the Bible and creating strong churches by establishing believers in the Word of God.

Countries touched by their ministry are Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and more recently, Cuba. With time, Steven has taken on more and more of the ministry responsibilities, including giving oversight to churches in Nicaragua and Mexico. He is now president of Pan American Ministries, and exercises an anointed ministry of teaching Bible and ministry topics in the four nations mentioned, plus others.

Several strong churches were planted, through crusade evangelism, in Costa Rica (including the largest evangelical church in that country), and over one hundred exist in Nicaragua that were either pioneered by the Schnedlers or were birthed out of those started by them. Since 1969, radio and TV ministries in Costa Rica and Nicaragua have touched thousands of lives with the gospel and the clear teaching of the Bible.

In Mexico, a number of churches and pastors receive oversight, encouragement and training through Pan American Ministries’ outreaches. A School of Ministry has been held annually for almost thirty years for the training and encouragement of pastors and leaders. Numerous seminars were conducted in Cuba in 2017 and 2018. There are plans to continue this outreach in the future. Many Cuban pastors anxiously await the time when further training seminars will be held.

Pan American Ministries is a mission of financial integrity, and has invested tens of thousands of dollars in church construction, equipment for pastors, vehicles, and much more, to strengthen the hands of God’s servants in Latin America. Our vision is to keep doing what we’ve done for over fifty years, while seizing new opportunities and doors that God opens to us.
